Primate & Predator Safari
An early start to track our carnivores at dawn with a research team. Big Five, elusive northern white rhinos, African wild dogs, regal Grevy's zebra, and the captivating chimpanzee sanctuary, where mischievous characters like Max add a playful charm. Home by 3:30 for afternoon tea and a soothing massage.
In Search of Giants Safari · The Rhino
Tucked in the valley between Mount Kenya and the Aberdares, Solio is one of the most successful private rhino sanctuaries in the world, over 200 black and white rhinos. Game drive, bush picnic, then an incredible orphanage where you may have the chance to feed an orphaned baby rhino.
Mount Kenya Safari
A 45-minute drive to the mountain. Tea at Old Moses camp, a two-hour hike to the viewpoint among giant lobelias, cabbage groundsels and bamboo. Scenic picnic brunch at the viewpoint; one-hour descent. Back to Mukima by 3:30 for reflexology, sauna and the crackling fire.
Waterfalls, Wild Pools & Forest
Ngare Ndare Forest, at the base of Mount Kenya. Walk with an armed ranger through lush indigenous forest. Natural blue pools, secret waterfalls (swim!), the 400-meter canopy walk through the treetops. Private lunch in a secluded spot.
Riding Wild
Riding out into the savanna with sightings of rhino, elephant, Grevy's zebra, wild dogs, cheetah, leopard, giraffe and more. Strictly experienced riders only.
Sundowners & Night Safari
The Lolldaiga Hills, named for their rugged ridges and ancient archaeological wonders. Game drive, cocktails on a magnificent viewpoint as the sun sinks, then a night safari home through the wild, looking for predators awake for the hunt.

Further afield
